Fictional

His fingers ran through my tangled, thick hair
And I could taste the strength of his cologne

What's the difference anymore
When I know humans evolved to run

My footsteps are written on my face
No lie is good enough to tell him
Even so, if fear was a lover
I know, I'd know it intimately

Whatever intimacy may be,

I try not to think about it much,
Perhaps it's some kind of fancy word,
In a cliché paper-back romance...

"What's the difference anymore
