No words can ever take away the sadness that you feel
and you probably think right now “how will I ever heal?”
Although the darkness overwhelms it seems that death has won,
your faith and time can soothe the heart, give courage to go on.
The tests and trials that you now face while burdened with your grief
will turn to smiles when you recall - his life beyond belief.
So many years you smiled with him, you held him in your heart
and in his eyes you saw his love right from the very start.
He couldn’t walk and couldn’t talk but how he laughed with glee
and in so many, many ways he showed you victory.
So cry a while and let grief reign until your mourning’s done
but remember after all – he now shines with the sun.

Hi Kethry, This is stated so well, having just lost my Mom, it almost felt for me. Thanks, and I am sorry if you lost someone special.

I wrote this for the parents of one my clients. He died at twenty five. He had Cerebral Palsy. Some would say he never lived but I think he lived more than most. He was always laughing and smiling and his whole face lit up when he was arguing with his dad about television programs.

Thank you all for your responses.

I read this soon after you posted it... and have come back to it often... You may have written it for one situation, but your wise words touch my heart... and help lessen the flow of my own tears. *S*

Beautiful work!!
