Near golden sunsets

this penny from heaven
this copper crown
but I doubt you'd notice
or even pass the thought
of batting those beautiful blues
in my direction or his
or his for that matter
too absorbed in Candy Land
too enthralled by a green
gingerbread boy
guess I need to grow some
plastic arms and run with
abandon through the Peppermint
Stick Forest...of doom!

but, alas, I digress from
marveling over your baby blond
hair and grabbing your attention
like a spoiled child in a pet shop

just a penny but a penny for you

I want to interpret this as if you wrote it for your daughter...and I'm hoping I'm right....I love it, reading it that way. However, if it is about a grownup child or girlfriend (whatever), then....well, I still love it, but the meanings of the words, of course, would indicate a "wild one"...lol. Hope I'm right on the first count. Good luck in either case. *hugs*....jo
