Youth’s Legatee

There is a path I walked upon
In my youth and now long gone
A rainbow path of colored seat
Of candy dreams and misty sweet

A valley filled with daffodil
With singing of the whippoorwill
And Spanish moss in nightly toss
With fireflies that lit the course

With moonlights silver snowy flare
And golden glint within your hair
With dancing leaves in make believe
And touch less touch of hearts receive

I found the path I knew was there
And everything is still as fair
You have not changed a moment’s store
Your beauty stays forever more

You are my youth’s legatee the
Forever of my youthful see

Seymour,

I always look forward to reading your poetry.

The ease of your rhyme speaks a sweet caress that I find most envious.

Thanks for sharing!

For an extremely 'visual' person and penultimate 'incurable romantic' such as I,
this 'write' is as good as it gets!...for specific example:

"A valley filled with daffodil
With singing of the whippoorwill
And Spanish moss in nightly toss
With fireflies that lit the course

With moonlights silver snowy flare
And golden glint within your hair"

and, once again...lines such as:

"With moonlights silver snowy flare"

...are virtually entire poems in and of themselves!
