Highway To Freedom

Traveling down this highway,
in the middle of the night,
tears keep falling down my cheeks,
yet I know that leaving's right.
I can't keep pretending
you love me when I know,
that deep inside your heart
you'll be glad to see me go.
So, I'll keep my eyes
on the road ahead,
I won't worry where I've been.
I can't keep looking back
cause it'll bring me down again.
I can't change the past,
so i'll leave it blowin' in the wind.
I'll find a better life
and learn to live again.
This old road will take me
anywhere I want to go,
I don't have to stay
with a love that hurts me so.
I was bent on leaving
so I packed my bags to go,
I just have to be strong now
and not let my feelings show.
I'll keep my eyes
on this road ahead
and not worry where I've been.
I won't keep looking back
to let you break my heart again.
