Autumnal Mist

a soft, gentle fog
dresses the morning
in a coastal luster
no matter the distance
inland
the sweetness of it
places my heart
on the shores
of ebb and flow
a rhythm soothing
to my soul,
caressing
pressing
the wrinkles wrought
by time–
creating a type of newness
not experienced
for ages hence.
what is this solace?
how does it create such peace,
a peace that wells up tears
of thankfulness
that I could share
its fullness with you
would clothe me
in joy tenfold

Thanks for all the wonderfully encouraging words and thanks, Marge, for catching the typo. And I thought I used spell check ...must have been on another item I was writing today. Appreciate the "good" eyes!

VAS,
I haven't seen your name for ages as you wouldn't have seen mine. Isn't it amazing how we breathe and grow as poets no matter where we are. I like this autumnal vers it has a lovely soft feel to it.
BTW Yes I'm the same Kethry

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
