A Constant Fire

I need a constant fire now.
Yes, I got spoiled, true,
by a cushy inside job
and being without you.

I don't remember how cold you were,
but I do recall the general time,
now I own indifference, so
my memories don't always rhyme.

Winter makes me sleepy early
and I'd rather be at home alone
sipping coffee while reading poetry
about those places I've outgrown.

Home is where the warmth is at.
You are snow and I have no desire
to be out rolling around in you;
now, I need a constant fire.

I hate the cold too!

I've got a nice toasty wood fire going tonight; want to warm up?

"now I own indifference, so
my memories don't always rhyme."

Another excellent poem ps!

Pressie glommed on to the same line that I fancied most.

This certainly can conjure thoughts of a relationship gone cold, the snow a perfect metaphor for such.

Not certain you intend that, or are just meaning the literal, here, but a great poem!

Thanks for checking in on my Hi poem. I probably don't have writer's block, but I've felt I'd satiated my audiences and so have not had much motivation to write poetry. I'm still writing for my local paper 2 times a month and I still write a poem during the Sunday sermon to summarize, respond or rebut. :O} Seldom a rebuttal, though.hehehe

Makes me sooo glad i'm not braving the winter snows in the north. I like the warmth
much better. A good read.
