Coffee part of a field of addictions take your pick I've heard all renditions This morning I woke to cocaine sniffing or crack heads snivveling about rock Just then a cop stopped and pegged me wrong followed by some guitar songs I was back on track but something's missing I should be kissing that dark roast I begin to shake like most with this thought In society I've seen us fein the caffein something fierce, like tattoo's or nipples pierced Just part of a field of addictions Day by day it grows Harvesting our sorrows gives us energy to borrow not lasting to tomorrow I sit in my window like usual while i write I like a visual Blends the shop of choice where I here the voice of the city Feet patter cars whisper through the door The sound of grinding coffee I truly adour And the odour of burning has me yearning for one more Relaxed still chilled I want another refill felling great as fine ladies congregate give me a second to reinstate I often reiterate as my mind litigates the fate of this poet far from late I bide still, but I'm on the brink It's opportuned time to tune into ryhmes Define a world make it shine It's just my buzz talking Well it's coffee time |
