Precious vessel
Speak through the gleam in your eye
Still and permanent
I wonder what it feels like
Curve my hand to cup your cheek
Tear ducts empty via the circumstance
Yet I remain by your side, draped in your favorite colors
Relinquishing the life I'd planned, the life you left behind
Singing to the tune of a new day
One where we can be again
I've put out of place any remnant of fear
He's arrived
I'm awake, it's been this way for days
I simply ask for you not to succumb
Clench your teeth and battle the burden
Fingers intertwined, mines fair and yours frail
Blaring noise rings throughout the room
Dissolution has arrived
Never turning away from the scene
I watch as you are set free
Now I may rest a little, as I listen to the sound of your wings

Perceptions of reality are bending as truth seeps into the masses.

Listening to every heart

This reminds me of the [near] ending
of Steel Magnolias...

and in watching that movie, which moved
me to tears, I read this,
and am moved to tears.

Welcome to Passions.  I do hope you wrote this
not from your own experience, but
imagination, alone.

Please, check your email

My goodness gracious! What an incredible debuting poem! I could almost hear the fluttering of her wings.

~ 'Tis so sad, yet very inspirational.
