Everything is in the pot coming to the boil accepting of the aging and the wrinkling of flesh except a little dream child struggling to get up and a mother figure in comforting embrace. In rocking pose the mother asks, “Who has left this little child?” and she looks to the right a woman awe inspired at how from strife and turmoil a child is birthed within and bonds immediately with the figure that is “me”. Two peas in a pod outside that boiling pot protected from the heat of intolerable days smile together at the giving and receiving and too cry together at their invisibility. There is music in the silent times, silence in the chit, chat, chat, and both together dance the dance of two combined in solitude. Mother/child within a dream and I am there betwixt between looking for the one I know ~ but the weave of bond too tight and lesser mortals cannot fight the child-like wonder birthing so within the heart of older folk. And there is no reason, so it seems for life, for dreams, for boiling pots that cook most everything to death to release the mother/child in “me”! Helen / 10 September 2006 |
