Tell me no more: I am what I am; the depressor—hollowed by himself, with folded greatness without his colours shown-- But I too fond seek not the answers Tell me no more. Tell me no more: I have been too egotistical! I loved my own—ask me of my own, And I shall say “with greatness comes a price-- these friends I have no longer wish to frame me faded I have become in standing to reach above; stood on the higher peak alone with no-one-- to share my thoughts.” tell me no more. Tell me no more: I have seen the mine, and they; We are but of equal streams flowing all the same, But I in vain have tried to swim upstream faster-- but looking back they are all at rest no boundaries to achieve, a poet instead; But of all these years of trying to swim upstream-- no matter how far I go, tell me no more. But O was that I a butterfly painted for a day in colours of the rainbow. That greatness would soon but die-- yet leave a beautiful thought upon the world That I lived for a day in colours that did shine and died a day in greatness, so please; Tell me no more. |
