Autumn's Song When all the leaves fall from the trees Lightly swirling on the breeze It’s then that autumn comes to call To welcome in the days of fall Painting every leaf in sight With all her colors bold and bright Upon her frosty steed she’ll ride To crisply kiss the countryside She sings a tender sweet refrain That ripens all the golden grain Her lovely charms are soon revealed On orange pumpkins in the field With every golden note she sings Another wondrous sight she brings A song composed of nature’s art That stirs the soul and moves the heart Then as her song comes to an end One final verse she’ll softly send To let the woodland creatures know That very soon are days of snow Before cold winds of winter sweep She’ll sing the countryside to sleep Throughout the winter days so long They’ll sleep and dream of autumn’s song |
