Who waits for just one person anymore.
She remembers a train carriage,
suspended, rock and roll.
Leaning back on a stranger
a relinquishment of control.
She could not imagine feeling in love
not ever, not even before.

Before her feelings dried up
her vagina too,
no dizzy vibrations nor hot gushes
exploding inside anymore.
After all those years of screwing,
all the passionate conviction of love,
degrees of love, kinds of love.
Now the word itself disgusts her.
No, no more, enough.

Enough of strange hands,
rancid breath from a strangers throat.
No more drainage of her energies
in a turbulent scene.
Never a man in her life,in her bed,
mutterings obscene.
She feels much cleaner,
Sees life clearer.
No mounting heart beats and fiery charges,
so much easier.

Easier to find the lousy sleep
on that damned bed.
To eat the lousy food
dream the damned dream.
"I don't screw anymore,
and I don't cry anymore"
She lied to herself and close friend,
It wasn't a total lie,
it was her heart trying to mend.
Tears came to her eyes
but never fell.
They dried up on the spot,
that is what she was now,
a dry well.
