Ole Grassy Bill

On a green grassy knoll on the top of a hill
Lived a wee little elf known as Ole Grassy Bill
One day a young lady climbed up to the knoll
And asked Grassy Bill for some help with a troll

It seems this foul creature was lurking quite near
And filling the town folks with all kinds of fear
The troll was quite awful the young lady said
And it had a great horn on the top of its head

As people passed by on the roadway each day
The troll would jump out and take each one away
He took them down deep in a dark lonely hole
And made them dig daily for buckets of coal

The young lady promised Ole Bill she would pay
A bagful of gold for his service that day
Ole Bill did agree to get rid of the troll
In exchange for the pay of the young lady’s toll

And Ole Grassy Bill was as good as his word
No more from the troll was again ever heard
When his work was all done, Ole Bill went to get paid
But the woman refused him the deal they had made

In anger Ole Bill turned the woman to ice
For failing to pay the agreed upon price
So learn from this story my friend if you will
