Her heart an ocean, wild and free and vast; So thunderous its beat - then calm once more; Its fluid beauty to his world is cast To wash with rainbow warmth his inner core. Oh, what treasures lie beneath those mystic Waves! The uncharted vastness yet to bare Its pearls; deep secrets dwelling in the cryptic Fathoms of its depth, to where none may dare. But how to rise, to fly on leaden wings When in untold grief his heart will mourn - For though a lover’s song to her he sings, In vain its echo over waves is borne: When his love's true-penned, calligraphed refrain Will on her heart no permanence retain. Oceans are very deep, just like the love that you have penned within this, liked the title and the poem! ~ARH |

Beautifully written, Castle Guard--a sonnet in the classical manner! My only negative comment would be that I think you meant "uncharted" instead of "unchartered." Excellent poem. Cheers, Bill |

Thank you, ARH, glad you liked it. Dublin Boy - you are correct, and thank you for bringing it to my attention, and for your words of appreciation. CG |
