Secret Lovers To nestle in a timeworn loft Where worldly cares are left behind, Is all the beauty one could want; As when two lovers are entwined. The quality of pillow-soft, Full, silken lips, that muffle sighs Is teasing as a lover’s taunt That leads to passion’s soulful cries. “O, My love!” A cry of pleasure! As the lovers feel their aching Each explores their deepest sorrows As their very hearts are breaking; Time is short, though hard to measure, Lost so deep inside each other. Time is kept for other morrows, So to be with one another. Love for now has come to parting. Secret lovers must part at last. For their rings on wedded fingers Bind them to their unhappy past. Leaving now, the tears are starting As each young lover fades from sight; With dreams of their love that lingers, Of one more secret, love-filled night. I prefer to be a dreamer among the humblest, with visions to be realized, than lord among those without dreams and desires. -Khalil Gibran |

Thanks, Midnitesun. It was a late-night, "any-love-is-better-than-no-love", kind of write! John I prefer to be a dreamer among the humblest, with visions to be realized, than lord among those without dreams and desires. -Khalil Gibran |
