Mocking Our Failure I was waiting to see you in the flattering light of late afternoon, the light that passes through the harshness of mid-day, the harshness that you had so recently escaped. I heard your voice calling to me but you did not come close enough to see and I could not hold nor stop the setting of the sun, golden as it was. Then you were gone. Were we both so hidden in so many long shadows that we knew not which way to run? The growing darkness is blinding me now and all I am able to see, rising are two reflected faces, merged in a smudge of tears set to haunt this endless night. |

You are an artist because I saw a canvas with two distorted and blurred images....mostly in blues. |

"The growing darkness is blinding me now and all I am able to see, rising are two reflected faces, merged in a smudge of tears set to haunt this endless night." ~ Aww, Kraw... Your watercolour memories have stirred some of my own... Your poetic soul drips pure emotion down the page. Lovin' hug, EA |

I felt the darkness in this poem. Turning up brightness on my monitor. Thanks for sharing your poem; it was much enjoyed! Poetry is just the evidence of life. |

Hello m'friend! ~sigh~ Love's heartbeat is heard and felt within these words. You've penned the essence of the incredible sadness, the empty feeling that accompanies losing a spiritmate's connection. But it's good to read your heartbeat again. May your heart find love again! |

There are times when I can only hope looking through tears leads to rainbows. ...an exquisitely written poem that makes my eyes well, too. ~ K. |

Wow. The sky breathes inside your poetry. Even the dark moves and touches others. Very poignant piece of ache, my friend. Warm hugs, Reg |
