Inspired by the brilliant words of Rod McKuen as sung by Glenn Yarbrough... and celebrating both my birthdays. *S* I've never greeted morning with the taste of marmalade But when I think of all the difference that you have made I'd be remiss to not look for a way To tell you what I never stopped to say... Thank you so for hearing the unspoken And thank you for the way that you replied For you gave to me rebirth With the sweetest sound on earth I knew then it was my soul that you spied Thank you for the moments you created The difficult you seemed to do with ease But I know the cost you paid For the heaven that you made You shed heart's blood to pay the piper's fee Thank you, too, for wrapping me in sunlight When bitter winds would have torn me apart As I face another year I would like to tell you, dear I'll love you all my life with all my heart. |
