 . . . . . For the sun to set I wait. Heart pounding, beads of sweat forming on my upper lip. My breath comes quickly as darkness cloaks me in a shawl of anticipation. Suddenly you are a shadow on the moon. I tie back my hair with the hem of your cape, tilt my head to one side, and close my eyes to the madness which follows. Your strike is sure and quick. With a beating of wings you are gone. I shiver in the night air, yet my neck burns. Through the insanity I know too well that to-morrow the blood red sun will have to set, and once again.... I will wait. *~*~*~* |
