Of Chaos, Gelatin, Vikings & Armageddon ©2006 C.G. Ward in the periphery of epiphany, Silence is a sham - a farce of blacks, whites & smidgeons of grey floating the ceiling like smoke from an ashy cigar. none of these are valid, though. chaos is Reality, a glimmering of disorder we chain to time-rusted bedposts … or at least try to. sometimes she cries, sobs sorrows of another age, a thyme when translucence was Virtue not a crony’s weakness beneath the glowering of a bully-boy-wannabe-godlike-personna beating her sensible at night. glowing bulbs of sinuous sunlight are l i t h e and twist beneath the fingers when grasped. [only children seem able to curl palms around INTANGIBLE, laboring imaginations to man-handle disbelief into solidity] ----------------> mankind is not bred to suspend Disbelief… instead, it lies compacted inside miniscule packets of fine-lined sugar-sand nestled at the gummy gelatinous base of our skulls. as we age - like wine to vinegar - we find ourselves growing ever more sour with each passing year… even as we believe our net worth of self inflates. ----------------> the Vikings bore no illusions regarding their lives, knew with a divine certainty that life ends and it is no travail – only a journey completed. This read as if I'd eavesdropped on an interesting conversation--most debates on finalities/Armageddon always seem to be interminable, but you have captured my interest here, as you always have, C. I noted the use of colors and smiled thinking of Linda there--but I puzzled over what was the purpose of your arrows? and all of this and Norse mythology too! Gotterdamerung! Fimbulvetr? ---------->you made me google "My other boat is an air mattress." Gotta light? ----------> An intriguing write, C. Can't say I truly understood it as it felt a bit vague, like it was lifted out of context or something. Either that, or it's the meds. yeah, that's it. It must be the meds. Great to see your name here on the blue page, lovie. -----------> And smiling at you too, thinking you are at the "twick or tweat" stage of the game too. *hugs* (and uh oh, Karen likes the arrows--she just may steal those just like she did the squiggle ~thingies~ for a while...heh? love ya!) |

~tilde~ Me, I typically usually use it as an approximation, for example, ~250, would mean "about" 250. Of course, sometimes I just use it cause it looks all froofy and neat. As to this piece... I'm about halfway through my third reading of Neil Gaiman's American Gods, which prompted the thoughts in this. I think it can stand apart, but have to admit that I have the perspective of the book to go off of, so can't say with surety that it's not necessary to attain complete understanding. Nor, for that matter, does the book completely explain the piece. I know I have a tendency to write as if a) out of context or b) as if in a personal conversation - I know this because people have told me many many times. I have tried to step back and see how to bridge that gap, but it is an ever elusive answer. hugs & thanks as always for reading, replying and making me smile. ps - I really really really have no idea why I used the arrows as a separator... lol |

<--Karen--non-medicated I won't have you be ignored, Dan. (now what movie did I just allude to, hmmm?) I couldn't find the bump smilie, btw. And since you won't write me and give me your new e mail addy, I'll just have to keep talking to you and pretend yer listening. See? Nothin's changed. |

I do not know the answer to that. Do tell? I don't ignore you, per se, I actually listen... it's not my fault you can't hear me speaking to you. |
