A Desire To Be Living

I know control,
excel in manipulation,
and I'm skilled in the
fine art of criticism.
I've lived inside of lies
and made loved ones cry,
but these are all things
that I no longer desire.

I have new desires;
to love, my heart to share,
to desire to honestly care,
and to know the value of
accepting and forgiving.
This is the way that
I desire to be living.

To which you aspire--
Overcoming the past,
To be free at last
A new future cast
As True, not a Liar!
