Will I with pride in heaving chest greet flags upon conclusion of this race or will my courage broken lie unanimously marking my disgrace Will friends once met who glimpsed the man that hid so well behind this foolish face cry floods of heartache or of joy or will my passing slip without a trace Would deeds fulfilled and marked for history proclaim my name from steeples high or will the little I have done or touched or tried to touch all fade and die Would sons I held whose very veins should hold at least for me one reason why stride hard to follow as I’ve taught or teacher gone give up the will to try Could words those tiny torturers within my mind who mock my lack of skill be final testament to one who hurt no man and wished no other ill Could truths instead of stones of doubt be cast to ring upon my casket still to keep one memory or will that die as surely as this poem will |

I believe we all want to be remembered at least by one someone ... and with a smile. Excellent write. Chris "Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." - Oscar Wilde |
