BOOTS ON THE GROUND? “Political correctness” Seems to be the thing these days The politicians send them there But, it's the Soldier who pays. These folks are our neighbors And Sons and Daughters, too Some are Moms and Dads Or may be a Friend to you. They are really human beings Sent to fight and maybe even die They're more than, “Boots on the ground.” At the least, to you and I! But those who send the orders And the politicians in DC Seem to only count the numbers Of body counts and casualty. They are somebody's loved one They'll be missed when they are gone More than a number on a list That just goes on and on and on. We need to make those in power Realize the Soldiers plight For calling them, “Boots on the ground.” Just really is not right. So, in the name of “correctness” All should call them what they are Troops and Warriors who protect us Both here at home and afar. Not respected as they should be And it's time all came around To knowing all those Heroes are More than just, “Boots on the ground.” 10.25.06 Del "Abe" Jones Mankind's greatest accomplishment is not the revolution of technology, it is the evolution of creativity. |

Indeed, if called "broken hearts on the ground" could they count them so callously? |

(loud applause) And beyond that, our young men and women serving honorably and courageously in uniform deserve more than the empty rhetoric they're getting with "Stay the course!". (sad sigh) With this current administration behaving just like the cast of Fawlty Towers literally, with President Bush behaving like Basil Fawlty, they're literally trying to keep Iraq off the front pages and network news programming for the sole, selfish political purpose of maintaining their majorities this election season, literally saying like Basil Fawlty said on the episode of Fawlty Towers when Basil had a concussion and in greeting German guests to his hotel warned his staff, "Don't mention the war!" yet kept clumsily mentioning it without realizing it. (sad sigh) That's what this administration is trying to do; they want us not to talk about Iraq, but rather talk about World War II and Iwo Jima.....and if we can't resist talking about Iraq, talk about September 11th. (sad sigh) With our elected officials behaving just like this, they are literally leaving our young men and women in uniform to fend for themselves, to survive on their own out there, and they deserve MUCH more than that selfish display! (wipes tear) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Abe, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you!
