It's times like these
when words are driven home
to press on and tattoo their translations
to a permanency
where words form a bridge to tomorrow
and close the gap of grief.

It's times like these
that color the world in choice,
those somedays to renew
and labels to peel off
exposing the skin to
a hardening of circumstance
allowing the cards to be played.

It's times like these
that let go the hold of memories twisted
that once sustained
but leave restlessness in its place
to forward the drive
into another Winter
and thoughts of you.
