In The Middle of Nowhere

Sometimes she text messages me
to say "How was my day."
and I text her back each time
to say that I am "Fine".
And then I don't hear from
her for about a week...
She does it all the time.
We're trying to meet in
the middle of nowhere
Her unsure how much she cares.
Me in wonder if I should care.
With each new text message
I reassure myself that I'll be fine.
My text message always says I'm fine.

James, honestly, the next text message that I sent would be "Fine without you. Save me the 10 cents and leave me alone."
