We’ve been brought here to share thanks with our family peers We thank god for ancestry drawn clear We are blessed with human rights and give thanks to those perfect nights When family prevails over times of rape When family teaches to give and not take Thanksgiving Giving heritage and dawns sunset As the sun begins to rise We paint the marmalade skies And awe at how the cumulus clouds fly Today is the perfect thanksgiving view We have come to find strength in numbers true Thank you for health and life Thank you for strength when things seem trite Uncle Thank you for a father’s companionship Thank you for support Thank you for bringing life greater worth Grandma Thank you for love and dignity Boat Parades And sea shells found in dresser drawers for days We are all contributing to the fabric we have come to weave Ancestry is the study of what we have come to see In family Each member is a treasure A true testament to family bonds and the joining for ritual crossing of paths and stories of life, wisdom, heartache Thanksgiving becomes a symbol for the realization of family in cognate Blood and unrealized ties, community, safety, and security. In short Today is the day we reflect on what it is to give In turn We discover the meaning of what it is to live |
