Autumnal Enrapture

In coat of leaves
the park bench was buried
as the gray squirrel
scampered and scurried.
With gentle sweeping
of my hand
oh so softly
how they did land
upon the dampness
of earthen bed
where they now rested
their weary head.

This was where
they were intended to be
covering the ground,
beneath Autumn trees.
I sat in amaze
looking out over yon lake
water lapping the beach
in symphony did break
as the sun shone,
a brightening of all
those many splendid colors held
within the fall.

I thought of the leaves
that fell to the ground
held in the beauty of
their gentle surround,
of how they began life of their own
as nothing more than mere seed
nourished by sun and life
upon which they did feed.
Carried and blown upon the winds
of life unseen
then turning into a mountain
of vivid green.

When the season of summer
fades into gone
comes the passing of cycles
into the dawn.
As foliage turns into pallets
of tawny hue
brings with it the splendor
of Autumns’ view.
The wind in soft moan
blew through the trees
whispering the tales of
life’s mysteries.

It told of how life’s circle
is complete
as each season fades
into retreat.
I pondered how just
one simple seed
could birth into
leaf of tree
that would fade away
with the passing of time
into such beauty
of delightful divine.

The splendor of the fall
hung amidst the trees
while visions of life
enraptured me.

Beautiful Donna..
Your words like burnt autumn leaves
floated gently
down the
page.

Ladies, thank you each, very much.  The colors are turning wonderful here at this time of year.  Happy Friday, and hugs to all.

(smiles) Oh Donna, this gentle poem is all at once kaleidoscopically spellbinding and paint a whole picture over with colors only your golden heart can produce! (kiss on cheek) Though I admit spring and summer are my favorite seasons, I still also admire autumn very much in that, as some of my favorite Native American poets often claim, completes the sacred hoop of life, and circularity is always inevitable in the finest of things! Yay, this is beautiful, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Donna, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
