Only a day ago seems a distance I can only remember in the aftermath of futile walks along the sands of the river flowing through the city. Surrounded by the sounds of industry reaking its music upon the morning light, false beauty in the colors the smog makes of the sun. The river is mud colored, swift and silent in fury, reaching out to try and calm your nerves with the poison that rests in its depth. Follow her downtown and history slams you, not knowing how to feel, or justify the emotions that reep over your soul in the bitter light. |
