A dandelion drifts and blows away in weightlessness and silver gray, Feather weights, those floating spores come back to life and beg for more. Tis the path a foot has trod and hand that cast lone seed abroad in faith that sun, the earth, and rain will bring forth a fruitful gain. Beyond horizons of one's view lies the yield of harvests due still cocooned within Love's keep, conceived in thought sown earthly deep. Womb mysterious, chrysalis springs dreams of nectar and butterfly wings unfold on blossoms beneath blue skies ~ the promise of apples and lovers eyes. ~ Klassy Lassy [This message has been edited by Klassy Lassy (10-15-2006 12:27 AM).] |

KL A dandelion drifts and blows away in weightlessness and silver gray, Feather weights, those floating spores come back to life and beg for more. I'm partial to dandelions, and Sy. Lovely poem! |

Klassy, Your poem has such a gentle, silken flow. I can well imagine the dandelion seeds drifting, alongside of the appleseed drifter. Local legend passed down by my grandmother said that someone gave him a few English pear seeds. Supposedly, he planted one on my mother's farm. The poor old tree has withstood several lightening attacks, and yearly, it appears to be on its last leg. Yet, it still produces the best pears... Sure did enjoy your picture perfect poem, Klassy! I'm sure Sy will love it. miscellanea |

Enchantress, Thank you. ~~~~~~~~~ Passing Shadows Thank you for reading. It's nice to have something to share! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Martie, I like Dandelions, too, and they seem to have a hayday in my back yard every summer. My neighbors would probably be very happy if they were gone. One comes down and picks the most tender ones, however, to eat. I've not seen a single one in his yard, tho. And Sy is delightful! |

The Lady "The Lady and Sir Sy" What complimentary names! I am glad you share my sentiments....you leave me smling. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Thank you, miscellanea Awwww!...I love your story. There is something majestic about trees, and they add so much to our lives. That poor old pear tree--what a shame--I am warmed by its tenacity. We have a 30' holly tree in our yard, the only one left in the court. A devil storm hit in 2002. I thought it was going to snap like a twig! People come seeking its greenery and berries for Christmas but in the summer, a climbing yellow rose crowns it with blossoms. My husband's grandma gave me the rose, and she's gone now. Thank you for sharing with us, too! |
