The deadly offensive of love’s denial bears coffers and crates of happier states and delivers them up bound and wrapped with a promise and pledge of happiness in the freedom to be … simply a fool. Gems, sheer gems, of transient worth tempt and attract with unfathomable luck a whole host of the new order of folk and confines them together in a sad malady. But it’s beautiful there before I’m aware of invisibly gifts borne by refusal to accept and enjoy the bribe of these times that gives no credence to future lives. Preserve me, preserve me, but not as a fool placed in line for a suction pump life that dissolves and dispatches my energy into the bin of disposable waste. To live is to love and I’m alive now; could the foolish be wise and cease to deny? Helen / 11 October 2006 |
