Shores of Time I walked alone on moonlit shoals Along the quilted sands of light. With stark white dunes of fallen stars To guide me o'er this shore of night. As dunes and driftwood count their tolls, I ponder with a heart content. 'Midst long forgotten, wind-tossed spars, 'Neath ruined hulls whence they were rent. I lingered long within this clime, Of broken dreams and star-crossed ships, With little want or little care As moonlight drenched my parch-dry lips; And pure as nectar made from time-- My thirst and hunger soon withdrew-- This gift from Heaven lighting there, With taste as sweet as honeydew. When suddenly there fell a star; And, lo! That star became a face. And gliding soft as angel’s flight Your visage graced this ancient place. Whilst Angel’s voices from afar Calmed the night with whispered gladness, You appeared within the starlight, Banishing the cloying sadness. Forevermore we walked these sands As stars and dark gave right of way To morning’s brilliant, sun-drenched beach That danced with swells and palm tree’s sway. As one we walked while clasping hands And built a house beyond the waves. But, O! What heights a love could reach That knows not time--a love that saves. Pinky: Gee, Brain, what are we going to do tonight? |

Hi, TL. So far, you're my number one fan! I am pleased that you are taking the time to read, and hopefully enjoy, all of my posts. I know that I am pleased and comforted when I see your name in the "responses" column. Thanks TL. I really do appreciate it. John Pinky: Gee, Brain, what are we going to do tonight? Brain: The same thing we do every night, Pinky: try to take over the world! |
