Looking in the mirror I see signs "I'm more like her". Though different were we raised back then, At times she would concur. Our parents kept us laced-up-straight, But she would break that mold. Younger then, by seven years, I lacked her spirit, bold. I miss her when the seasons change, When birthdays pass me by. It saddens me to feel this loss Of "left behind" to tie... The ends of loose, that are mine now With no one here to lean. I'd give it up if only she'd Return upon this scene. Impossible, yet every day I feel her touch, though light That pushes me to bear my cross, Upending me towards right. Speaking to her, words of thanks, Wondering how she knows The needs of mine, disguised in vague, I've tried not to expose. I know that if it weren't for her And moments we shared last, I'd have held onto the long ago Still living in the past. M "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." (Will Moss) [This message has been edited by nakdthoughts (10-09-2006 06:58 PM).] |

A fitting tribute to somebody who will always be with you. Though new to the site, I am not new to life (far from it) and I read feelings and sincerity in your words. Ivor PS I hope you felt better after Christmas! The moment created this second, is a moment that's going to last. |

Ivor, thank you. This was about my older (only) sister who passed away about 2 1/2 years ago of cancer. When her birthday comes around and when I need a pep talk, I think of her words during that last year and how she kept me from faltering during the last few years while she suffered and I endured. Thank you for the kind response. Maureen |
