It was written in the stars A boy I was ''supposed'' to be To carry on your name For all the world to see But instead of blue booties and dreams of bats and balls You were instead given a daughter Pink bows and barbie dolls. But no matter what my gender You loved me through and through destined to become a tomboy With a little help from you. You taught me everything you could Mow the lawn, wash the car throw a football, run the bases and wish on a shooting star For the little time we spent together You showed me your true soul Although you didn't do it often I learned that you were whole. The woman I am today Can thank the barefoot tomboy in the past And also my Dad... I know I grew up fast. I hope you are atleast a little proud And know I give credit to you For my ability be so strong Me and Dad- A bond forever true. |
