Poetry may be a vision of the spirit's goal But Music is a power created by the soul. Implanted there a vector to the Word As though God had spoken In commandments to be heard. |

Ah, for me, all worthwhile creative endeavors originate from the heart and soul, be they of sculpting, painting, writing musical composition, performance...whatever form. A thought provoking write, Troy. |

Jody5 ~ Thank you! Appreciate the comment! Jess ~ You'll forgive me if I don't agree with your statement! Midnitesun ~ You're right of course! But one can't forget that it is the brain which sweats to forge what the heart and soul desires. This at least is the one absolute for ALL the greater and lesser lights in creative history. Will Ryme ~ It is 'sound' and the way it is inflected into perceived reality which renders the word and it's meaning. Music, in short, precedes the word because by necessity it must eventually create it. The ancient poets 'sang' their verse, they did not 'speak it'. The Cosmos itself has been described as a great fuge or symphony, that is, an entity created by vibration which rendered a Universe as though it were a mural on the Sistine. Music doesn't mean just dancing to a waltz or a song written and sung by John Lennon regardless of anything he may have thought. He was not a man to do much thinking but nevertheless, he did have an effect on his age. You may have noticed, I was excluded! |
