Lost A leaf upon a moving stream Drifts into a dreamers dream A derelict on waters broad A single sailor ant aboard He scuttles to the aft and stern The left and right of his sojourn He stands and shifts antenna’s high He knows not where his safeties lie He is a species blind on earth And seeks fulfillment of his birth Each path he takes a turn a bend He cannot satisfy an end How so it seem that it were I A symbol of my voyage why A sailor of a sail that be Horizons that I cannot see I seek forgiveness of the trance I never really learned to dance |

I'll bet you can dance dear Sy... And I hope you saved one for me. Love this tale. Now I know to look for you in the evening shade. ~Smiles & Hugs, Nancy~ ~Somewhere in my heart I'm always dancing with you in the summer rain ~ |

Feeling a bit antsy are we??? Smiles. I enjoyed the poem and I like the picture that you paint with your words of the ant trying to feel its way through life and, yes, I can definitely relate very well to this metaphor of facing unknown horizons. Very well expressed. -Bob |

I didn't learn to dance either....but an ant is quite a traveler...and probably waltzes well. |

Nor did I... but you still hear the music and you set forth your own rhythms beautifully. Klassy |

society, my dear man, loves to analyze others...if we don't think and feel as they do, why my gosh, something must be wrong with us...but the more and more I view this world and its inhabitants, I'm wondering what in God's name is going on, and the more I wish to retire, some place secluded...you can dance dear man, you can...don't compromise your identity to belong or seek approval...yanno? Love to you and yours Thank you for my first read of the morning, and a good one at that! |

Dear Seymour, I love your "exploration" ... A leaf upon a moving stream Drifts into a dreamers dream A derelict on waters broad A single sailor ant aboard This is so delicately said yet with a powerful effect. With every new day comes a new invitation to dance ... life is a dance, make your choice, whether you learn to dance or not, either you dance life or life dances you. Thank you for this thought provoking piece. Love and hugs. Margherita |
