Within a Stone’s Throw Lies a once lively garden Within a stone’s throw, Chipper chipmunks chase gaily Over ground where weeds grow, While the wild onion wind wakes The molding windrow. Tired tools of the harvest In rusty sleep lie, At the fence that kept cattle In the meadow nearby, While the gate gapes wide open Having long said goodbye. Under shade of sugar maple Where the salvias grow, Lie the farmer and family Who, many years ago, Raised the home barely standing Within a stone’s throw. Sherry Bivin 4/05 |

This is an interesting piece. It feels melancholy but also cheerful somehow... |

I've got to go find your first poem...in order to Welcome you to Passions! The fine resonance of sound in your alliteration... the keen ear to wind speak of your words... these are quite the sounds worth hearing... and I am glad to have stopped... and then heard. Welcome to Passions! " It matters not this distance now " Excerpt, Yesterday's Love |

Most hauntings involve ghosts; here the haunting is done by emptiness. Nice job. PLEASE VISIT MY REGULARLY UPDATED WEB SITE http://www.anthonyarmstrong.zoomshare.com |
