![]() 2173 In New Zealand 03 August 2002 Somebody lives in New Zealand someone lives by the sea What the hell does this have to do with me Since I live in New Zealand I live beside the sea So after all it has much to do with me To live in New Zealand to live by the sea Such is the truth in relation to me In being born in New Zealand and raised in sight of the sea This life so unique it belongs to me The islands of New Zealand are shaped by the surrounding water mass of the Pacific Ocean to the east, and Tasman Sea on the west coast. With neighbouring country of Australia 1600 kilometres to the west and the Southern Ocean reaching out towards Antarctica. The administrative boundaries of New Zealand, dating from 1842, include the three main islands North Island, South Island, and Stewart Island, separated by relatively narrow straits with the addition of adjacent inlets and the Chatham Islands, a small group of islands, 850 kilometres east of the South Island. With the inclusion of minor islands, many which are uninhabited. The outlaying island of Raoul Island in the Kermadec Group, 930 kilometres north-east of the upper reaches of the North Island; Campbell Island, 590 kilometres south of Steward Island, and the Auckland Islands. [With government jurisdiction over the Ross Dependency, around 2300 kilometres to the south, in Antarctica]. a poet who cares |

I've only seen the North Island but that is enough to know that it is a privilege to live in New Zealand. It is a beautiful country ~ amazingly beautiful. You are truly blessed. Helen |
