my son gave me a finger painting of himself done in blood and it moved me like heat wrinkling the air as I hung it on the fridge with magnetic nails |

Anthony~ Of all the finger paintings my children gave me through the years ... each of them made their way to the refrigerator for short periods of time ... then lovingly tucked away in the chest-of-cedar ... and gifted back to them now that they turned adult~ The 'done in blood' made me recall the many, many times as youths that my friends and I did that little bleedy thing, touching fingers and swearing to be 'blood sisters' for life~ Funny ... most of us still are~ Thanks for stirring the memory pot~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

Tony, As many times I've read this poem I still love it. :-) Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, |

Anthony The innocense of fingerpaint combined with the question of blood really made for a unique and interesting poem. Enjoyed! |
