The Bane of Insane I do not like when fear calls God When buried in the wars of sod And tears holds near the far away As acid eats your guts away Your mind goes into word retreat Oh God, Oh God and more repeat Your throat dries into salty brine And death walks up and down your spine Your fingers hold your gun too tight You look at them just sticks of white Your face will twitch the rage of strain As mortars pock the near terrain But this is all in retrospect In time you place the disconnect This once your mind was simply dead Frozen in the fear of dread But I no longer dwell on bane For part of me has gone insane |

If we dwelt on it Sy we would be more than just a part insane. :-) The poem I posted today "Civilized Man" was inspired by your "When" poem of a couple of days ago. I so enjoy reading your reflections. :-) |

With you all the way Maybe in this funny world, if I ever pay off debts I might crew for you On a boat Into a sunset I've always liked your words Dave |

Dear Seymour, Thanks. I believe in God. Yet, I realize I may blame Him too much when I make my mistakes. I guess you could call this insanity. Write on. |

ah insanity mistaken identity So many Napoleons. Then there are those who become "aware" of having been insane. They see that it is all "illusion" But the one who calls it Illusion... Is himself an illusion. Blah blah blah ::smiles:: Wonderful write! As Always. |

I love God and have strong faith in God, but I think it's normal for everyone to have moments of "insanity" from time to time - that's life, not perfect. But, of course, your poem IS perfect - meter, wisdom, flow, thought - everything. Seriously, Sy, I'll always admire your talent and will always read every poem I can possibly find by you Melissa~ Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world! |

"Your mind goes into word retreat Oh God, Oh God and more repeat Your throat dries into salty brine And death walks up and down your spine" Talk about salt...this brineful made me swallow hard, making me FEEL the fear I've had of being lost at sea, all alone. Up the creek with no paddle is scary....but being on the open sea...adrift alone... is beyond fear. And yet I recall having that dream whenit didn't frighten me, but rather had a calming effect. ~sigh~ Always, you offer outstanding rhyme and ponderful thoughts. |
