5453 Forgiveness was Free 04 June 2006 How rude was she that day she did judge As if good was not all in her way of being criticize Yet should this be in words a secret time to love Across a world, half a breath how rude was she, of that to address While two rights are neither nor was wrong her strength This poetic rhythm of kind left alone, not wanting to part So to say sorry, was a reason to be alone and wanting, her heart to read Another time to ponder these was of yesterday tomorrow forgiveness was free “The art of conversation consists as much of listening politely as in talking agreeably.” George Atwell © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |

This was another of those poems I was prompted to compose in a form of poets challenge, on another site I belong too. The aim of the exercise was to take the words of a set topic and use them in the poem. With the topic being "How rude was she", I was left to consider if I should have even attempted to write this poem. Only like most of my verses, this poem was inside of me, ready to escape. So it take a few minutes to compose and wrote itself. Over something or some one I find special in my life, that has hit a bump in the road of a friendship. a poet who cares |
