Something about Summer |

Today, while I sat in the meadow tapping it, to the rise and falling hum, of the horde of bees that hover above the creek, a purple dragonfly chose my big left toe as his landing strip. I reached to pluck a blade of grass and dislodge one of his pipe cleaner legs from the pale pink polish I had just brushed on the nail yet still, he remained; drawn perhaps to the opalescent slickery as it absorbed all of the suns light, into a tiny pool of shell insides. Maybe though, he was just politely listening to my voice as I asked him how long he intended to stay ...on my person this day, for as everyone knows it is very difficult to rid yourself of guests in June. It's just something about summer ...or so they say. [This message has been edited by Ella Blue (06-04-2006 02:20 AM).] |

I love the way you use words Ella. So lush and vivid. The ending is outstanding. Made me chuckle. |
