The Three Mirages of Porfirio Díaz The Western Roman Empire had fallen, but the Eastern still survived behind its mighty walls on the Golden Horn. In 572, the Persians began a war to conquer Byzantium, which the Byzantines only feebly resisted. Nine shoestrings of indistinct shadows bled onto the sand. And upon the burnt sepia grit, they weaved without loom a fable of the darkened days of Cascade. Cascade, Montana, 729 people on a spit wad of earth. Nine shootings to shock the town. Nine murders to make it a mark. Nine stories to make it a spot. Nine shrines to attract 700 people to reside in Cascade to join the 29 (once 38). Three was not a mirage but rather a revolution. The heroes were quickstepping to Elvis Costello while the rats plotted heavily against their once loved companion of the olden days of hardy cheesing. But paradise cannot be painted over too many times, problems will still arise. The rats, they killed their friend, as he cried “Et tu, Rute?” And then came the truth, ah yes, the truth… The truth was tossed around and torn apart more times than a dead cat in a dog pound. So finally when it came to pass worthy ears, it wasn’t even sure where the door was. The three mirages of Porfirio Díaz weren't any of these. These are the fables they brought to life, the stories of the afterthoughts ignored. The fables of people who think outwardly, the ones who turn nothing into being. The three mirages of Porfirio Díaz were the walls, the sands and the cheese. I'm not smart, I'm just a tricky dumb person. |

mirage means an evidance of multiple dimensions.... while reading this, I couldn't help but remember the free massons, and the knights of templar before them...stories, legends passed down by man... enjoyed this muchly |

A mirage is "an optical illusion in which atmospheric refraction by a layer of hot air distorts reflections of distant objects" or simply something illusory and unattainable. Glad you liked it. I'm not smart, I'm just a tricky dumb person. |

YOU are unique! ....I like unique. This is one of the most original poems I've seen around here recently, and I think I just added a new poet to my "read-on-sight" list. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |
