Doubt Doubt is the fog that hides the shoal The goal and light within the soul It is the veil of a cloudy night The mist that holds the stars from sight It is the smoke from green woods fire The ash that covers desire It is the vague of underrate The muffling of exhilarate But doubt can burn the fire bright And yet can suffocate the light It is the yin and yang of do It has the clothing of a coup It has the power of a flower To live and die within the hour A sense of dear that’s held by fear That holds the heart against a spear The sense of doubt is good and bad That only time can unclad |

Doubt, "is the smoke from green woods fire"! What an exquisite metaphor this is. I can see it and feel the the wist of heart for light and warmth to leap with confidence. Undoubtedly, though, your poems are always gems to read. I come away thinking, feeling, and frequently smiling. This time, I wonder at your choice of words. They evoke strong images.  Klassy |

Sy, I rarely find a hiccup in your art. BUT........The ash that covers desire It just seems to stop prematurely and doesn't flow as well as all the other lines...Perhaps "The ash that covers one's desire"? ??? |
