5654 Shadow to Stand 28 August 2006 A head and two shoulders a heart worn upon a sleeve All dressed up in a fashion seeking nothing but love For what was right and where was wrong The exclamation mark and the singer of her song To honestly love in ways connected in kind To see and seek beauty and all in her beauty declined Not as to rejection, but more to write sadness perhaps, or happiness to processed Good luck and bad luck, mercy to befall where roses are yellow and heaven was a shadow to stand “As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether.” Song of Solomon 2: 3, 17 KJV © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
