Of Once More

Once more I sit a new day born
Within the sun and dew of dawn
I see the clear and blue of sky
And endless grass of fields that lie

The birds are seeking what to eat
And I have caught the smell of meat
The bacon cooking neat and crisp
The eggs are scrambled with a wisp

Slippers shuffle round and round
Sending me her lovely sound
Sending off the last of dreams
Ridding on the last moon beams

It’s hard to break this lovely spell
This moment’s peace where in I dwell
It starts the magic of my day
And sends me happy on my way

It is the needle and the eye
The spiders web in which I lie

"It is the needle and the eye
The spiders web in which I lie"

This profound observation is magical, like so many of your words. Greatly enjoyed.

A magical write, Sir Knight!

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
