COME TO ME

Come to me as swallows sail to summer
As powdered moth wings gravitate to light
Come to me as sure as rumbling thunder
Echoes silver swords that spear the night

If this not be the highway, swift and surest
I will hold the surge of flooding rains
I will pull the earth roots of the forest
Lift the coal black rock from mountain veins

All of this to pave the strait and narrow
Across whatever land, whatever sea
Then come with wings as swift as summer sparrow
And fly the course that brings you home to me

Lizy, this was absolutely perfect, touching, carefree, with an almost spiritual face, could visulize the power in this, yet the allowance.  Bravo

Liz....You sing when you write poetry..that must be why the rhythm and the lyrics sound so sweet!

What a treat! I happen to pop my head in after a long retreat, and I encounter the beautiful alliteration of Elizabeth Santos. I have always thought that your poetry was magical, truly a gift. This one sings to me as well!
