a picture was taken we weren't there his smile was stolen but we'll save it forever a scene on a floor i've looked up from so many times whining in names we forgot the faces to the endings to stories are learned after too long we're gonna beg, yeah you know it there's nothing left to do it's nighttime, it's time to go we never learned another way we stare at car wrecks, everyone does well the two of us go back to the same old disaster across town, on a wire let's replay old messages we saved on our machines i didn't know bones broke like that you never told me you stayed so close to home we can dance down hallways, love, and sparkle in the sun or we can burn in the snow and be shadowed by night we finished the game now we're playing a new one some things never change and they're the things we can't save it's such a toss up, isn't it? i'll put my head against tile and hope to be saved maybe i'm dying but right now it doesn't matter if it brings me your voice all is well that ends in tears. I am speechless - there are no words to tell you how much your poem impacts me. I am sorry that you have had the experience to understand all you wrote of. Does that make sense? Just sending my hugs. aziza |
