Hold Me Like the Night Do not touch me like the moon beams Touch a sleeping rose Cradling just half a flower In its gentle glows Hold me like the darkness captures Everything in sight Embracing every part of me, Erasing every light Hold me in your arms completely Hold me like the night Keep my whispering words forever Safe within your keep Let the night enfold you in the darkness As you sleep Love me like a breeze caresses Spring time as it blows Like the mist of morning falls And hugs the tender rose Come to me as twilight slowly gathers up the light Then hold me like the night Hold me as the midnight hour Makes magic in the dark Wrap me up completely in the Corners of your heart Blanket me with sweetness, darling, Shower me with love In the blackest shadows Under little stars above Do not hold me like the moon embraces with its light Hold me like the night Elizabeth Santos |

Ah, Elizabeth, if you have ever written a favorite poem of mine, this is it... It is a song, a tribute, a memory, a gift... It is Lady Santos. I am writing before the tears spring; this is a mother's voice a woman's choice; a sound of ever, and voice of clever.... It is ever and vescence... light, and knowing... it is choosing a path... then in its clear showing grace and class, elegance and love. It is a poem from a poet... and in this knowing... it is love. |

Lis, it is love, romance, passion.... softness, and so very much more. A most beautiful and tender writing you have given us. |
