Steam emitted
hiss..
breaks halted
clamor ceases
late arrival again
on the tracks
late comer
mysterious tutor
of past misery
recent finery
to Edwardian throats

glint of handle
light door release
steps appear
as baggage did
with exotic stamps
brim covers eye
late arrival descends
walks this way
ode to station encounters
glint of eye
sweet handshake
introduction ensues
"I am the new tutor,
Mr...."
pleasure Miss...
Miss Graves
pleasure, Miss Graves
but just a query
with a name like that
how can entrust
my children?

"Not to worry
Mr...."
"Ransom, my handsome lady"
"I am quite alive..Mr Ransom
although my name speaks
of dark days...
I live in the present.."

"I am sure you do, miss.."
he recognized her carriage
they strode
down platforms in the past
towards horseless cabs
shadowed drivers..
He thought.
"I am sure you do",
but I need to know
you won't be too harsh"...
Harsh? as they mounted to sit
"will you be holding me
at ransom,Mr Ransom
when my tone turns severe,
issues become critical
and consequences
grave?"

Well done.
I love your play on words, poet!

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

the key is to enjoy it yourself first, I find...here it was as if I had the words play in head first for double meanings before they got transcribed...then the poem becomes more a labor of love, instead of labor..
