Standing tall and standing free eyes on the flag representing liberty. Young people look, bodies proud and speak an oath in voices loud. Moving on to the great unknown, airplanes taking them far from home. What lies in store they do not know but when called to duty, they have to go. Minds in turmoil and fears suppressed joking and laughing to hide distress. But deep inside the questions fly will they make it? Will they die? Bravely fighting for truths held dear the foundations of freedom seem so clear liberty, democracy, and civil rights for all. Basic concepts that make them stand tall. What will be endured? Will all come back? Many won't return; that's a simple fact. They're not forgotten and remain alive as long as freedom rings. May it never die. aziza |

... and we should neve stop loving and supporting them in word, deed, and prayer! Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write. |
